Connect Slack to run searches without leaving your team’s workspace. Mention the Clarvo bot in a channel with the role you’re hiring for, and it replies in the same thread with matching candidates.
The Slack integration is part of the Growth plan. See Plans.

Connect Slack

This is a one-time setup, done by someone on your team with Growth access.
1

Open Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations and find Slack under Available.
2

Add to Slack

Click Connect, then Add to Slack, and approve the requested permissions in the Slack window. This links your Slack workspace to your Clarvo organization.
3

Confirm

Slack now appears under Connected Integrations with your workspace name.
One Slack workspace connects to one Clarvo organization. Once it’s connected, anyone on your team with Growth access can use the bot, they don’t each need to install it.

Run a search from Slack

1

Mention the bot

In a channel the bot can see, mention it with the role, for example, “@Clarvo find senior backend engineers in Berlin with Go and Kubernetes.”
2

Answer the clarifying question, if asked

If your request is thin on detail, the bot asks one short follow-up. Reply in the thread and mention the bot again with the extra detail, or tell it to continue with what it already has.
3

Get results in the thread

The bot confirms it’s searching, then posts the top candidates with years of experience, criteria met, location, and links to LinkedIn and the full profile in Clarvo.
Attach a job description (PDF, document, or text file) to your message and the bot uses it to shape the search.

Writing a good request

Include a few of these so the bot can target the search well: role or title, key skills, location, seniority, industry, years of experience, education, languages, or target companies. With only one or two, the bot asks for more before it runs.

Where Slack searches go

  • Each search runs as the person who mentioned the bot and uses one of your organization’s search credits, the same as a search run in the app.
  • Results are saved to an auto-created Slack searches project in Clarvo. Use View all in Clarvo on the results message to open the full candidate list.

Who can use the bot

Only Clarvo users on the Growth plan in the connected organization can run searches. The bot matches your Slack email to your Clarvo account. If that email isn’t a Growth-enabled member of the organization, the bot declines and asks you to have an admin add you. Each thread maps to a single search. To run a new one, mention the bot in a new message rather than replying in a finished thread.

Troubleshooting

  • The bot didn’t respond. Make sure you mentioned it directly, and that it’s in the channel. For a private channel, invite it with /invite @Clarvo.
  • It says it can only run searches for Growth users. Your Slack email isn’t matched to a Growth-enabled member of the connected organization. Ask an admin to add you, then mention the bot again. See Plans and Inviting teammates.
  • Replies in a thread are ignored. The bot only reads messages where it’s mentioned. Mention it again in your reply.

Disconnect

Because Slack is an organization-wide integration, only organization admins can disconnect it.
1

Open Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations (as an org admin).
2

Disconnect Slack

Click Disconnect on the Slack row and confirm.
After disconnecting, the bot replies to any mention with a note that the workspace was disconnected, until an admin reconnects it.
